Profile lines (1–6)
Each gates hexagram has six lines — like I Ching line positions. In the mandala, every gate spans an arc of 56 minutes, 15 seconds; that arc subdivides into lines, then colors, tones, and bases — down to 1080 distinct points of value per gate in full Human Design mechanics (Science of Differentiation at fine grain).
Profile and incarnation-cross use lines from Sun/Earth activations on personality-design sides.
The six lines
| Line | Name | Theme (beginner) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Investigator | Needs secure foundation, research, depth |
| 2 | Hermit | Natural gift; called out by others; selective visibility |
| 3 | Martyr / Experimenter | Learns via trial and error; resilience through mistakes |
| 4 | Opportunist | Influence through network, friendship, trust |
| 5 | Heretic | Universalizing projection field; practical solutions |
| 6 | Role Model | Three-phase arc: experiment (0–30), retreat (30–50), role model (~50+) |
Lower trigram (1–3)
Personal, introspective development — building self before broadcasting.
Upper trigram (4–6)
Transpersonal — impact through others, networks, projection, and example.
Profiles
Valid pairs form the profiles list (12 combinations). humandesign.chart returns profile as an enum (e.g. FourSix, OneThree). Line 6’s three-phase story is especially visible in 3/6, 4/6, 6/2, 6/3 profiles.
Beyond lines
Colors, tones, and bases refine variables and fixation studies; gate-level notes under gates carry hexagram themes. This bundle does not replace line-by-line gate commentaries.
