Midheaven

The midheaven (Medium Coeli, MC) is the degree of the ecliptic at the local meridian above the horizon—the “culmination” point at birth. On a natal-wheel it usually appears at the top (12 o’clock) and opens the 10th house of vocation, reputation, and public role.

The sign on the MC describes how one is seen in the wider world and the style of career or calling, subject to the whole chart. Aspects to the MC from planets modify that public narrative.

The MC forms an axis with the IC (house-4 cusp): outer achievement versus private roots. Like the ascendant, the midheaven depends on accurate birth time (birth-input). Opens house-10.
