Aspects
Aspects are specific angular separations between two chart factors along the ecliptic. They describe how planets and angles “converse”—blending, supporting, challenging, or polarizing themes.
Major aspects
| Aspect | Angle | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Conjunction | 0° | conjunction |
| Sextile | 60° | sextile |
| Square | 90° | square |
| Trine | 120° | trine |
| Opposition | 180° | opposition |
Software applies an orb (orbs) so near-exact contacts still count. Majors dominate first-pass reading on the natal-wheel.
Patterns and minors
- Patterns — T-squares, grand trines, yods: chart-patterns
- Minors — quincunx, semisquare, quintile, etc.: minor-aspects (tighter orbs)
Cross-chart synastry uses the same vocabulary between two people’s planets. Calculation uses the same longitudes as ecliptic-longitude.
